چکیده

Photoluminescence spectra of Tl2In2S3Se layered single crystals have been studied in the wavelength region of 535–725 nm and in the temperature range of 22–58 K. Two photoluminescence bands centered at 564 (2.20 eV, A-band) and 642 nm (1.93 eV, B-band) were observed at T = 22 K. Variations of both bands have been investigated as a function of excitation laser intensity in the range from 16 to 516 mW cm−2. These bands are attributed to recombination of charge carriers through donor–acceptor pairs located in the band gap. Radiative transitions from shallow donor levels located 0.02 and 0.01 eV below the bottom of conduction band to acceptor levels located 0.05 and 0.44 eV above the top of the valence band are suggested to be responsible for the observed Aand B-bands in the photoluminescence spectra, respectively.

Photoluminescence Spectroscopy of CdTe

Low temperature photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy was used to evaluate CdTe single crystals grown by a vertical gradient freeze method. Materials suitable for xray detectors preparation were in the center of attention. Both usual above-gap-excitation and rarely used below-gap-excitation was employed to investigate native defects and impurities. Tunable Ti-sapphire laser was applied to study e...

Photoluminescence and damage recovery studies in Fe-implanted ZnO single crystals

We report Fe-related emission in ion-implanted ZnO single crystals. Iron ions were implanted at room temperature with 100 keV and a fluence of 1310 Fe/cm, and were submitted to annealing treatments in vacuum and in air. After implantation, the damage raises the minimum yield (xmin) from 2% to 50%. Annealing in an oxidizing atmosphere leads to a reduction of the implantation damage, which is ful...

The Effect of Annealing, Synthesis Temperature and Structure on Photoluminescence Properties of Eu-Doped ZnO Nanorods

In this study un-doped and Eu-doped ZnO nanorods and microrads were fabricated by Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) method. The effects of annealing, synthesis temperature and structure on structural and photoluminescence properties of Eu-doped ZnO samples were studied in detail. Prepared samples were characterized using X-Ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), particle size a...

Vacuum ultraviolet excitation luminescence spectroscopy of few-layered MoS2.

We report on vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) excited photoluminescence (PL) spectra emitted from a chemical vapor deposited MoS2 few-layered film. The excitation spectrum was recorded by monitoring intensities of PL spectra at ~1.9 eV. A strong wide excitation band peaking at 7 eV was found in the excitation. The PL excitation band is most intensive at liquid helium temperature and completely quenched...

High temperature acidic oxidation of multiwalled Carbon nanotubes and synthesis of Graphene quantum dots

The acid oxidation of carbon nanotube generally results in opening the close ends of the nanotube and to make surface modifications. Herewith, Multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were oxidized in acids at high temperature experimental conditions which led to the formation of graphene quantum dots (GQDs).   High resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectro...
